Home Services Key Health Concerns
Alliance Medical Center places a strong emphasis on preventing disease and on maintaining the health of patients who have chronic health conditions. Some of the most common chronic health conditions for which we provide both screening and treatment include diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, obesity and depression. For more information on these health conditions, click the suggested links or make an appointment to see one of our medical providers.

Diabetes
If you’re diabetic, your body does not produce or does not properly use insulin, a hormone that helps convert sugar, starches and other food into the energy your body needs. Almost 8 percent of Americans have diabetes, and almost a quarter of those are undiagnosed. Alliance Medical Center has a comprehensive program to screen for diabetes as well as to help patients with diabetes manage their disease and prevent complications.

Hypertension
Hypertension is also known as high blood pressure. People with hypertension have an increased risk of having a stroke, a heart attack and/or developing heart failure. Causes vary, and include age, genetics and lifestyle. Keeping your blood pressure at normal levels is important. Alliance Medical Center providers can help you find out if you have high blood pressure and offer education and treatment if you have hypertension.

High Cholesterol
Cholesterol is an essential component of your body, and helps build healthy cells, but high cholesterol can result in fatty deposits in your blood vessels, which can impede blood circulation. Poor circulation could cause a stroke or a heart attack. High cholesterol can be treated with exercise, a healthy diet, and sometimes medicine. The medical staff at Alliance Medical Center offers low cost screening tests for high cholesterol and can give you advice on how to keep your cholesterol within healthy levels.

Obesity
Our lifestyles are often a factor in weight control. Busy lives and easy access to processed foods contribute to weight gain, but so do genetic factors and other medical conditions. Obesity can contribute to diabetes, cholesterol, hypertension and other medical problems, and childhood obesity is increasing. The medical providers at Alliance Medical Center can help you develop a plan if you are overweight that will help you lose weight and contribute to your overall health and wellness.

Depression
Depression is more than just “having the blues” or “feeling down.” It’s a medical illness that can be identified and treated. If you are persistently sad or anxious, often feel hopeless or empty, or experience worthlessness or hopelessness, you don’t have to suffer in silence. Alliance Medical Center offers screening for depression and for patients diagnosed with depression offers both confidential and caring mental health counseling and treatment with medications.
